New Delhi, Oct 12 (UNI) The rainy season may be over in Delhi but the week gone by saw the city receive a downpour of a different kind! A deluge of celebrities from the world of entertainment and Bollywood - from Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Kajol, Jimmy Shergill, John Abraham, Kirron Kher, Amisha Patel, Kim Sharma, music director A R Rahman to Director Onir - descended in the Capital this last week.

The last weekend saw actress Kareena Kapoor performing in the Capital at a diva night to celebrate the release of the new advertisement for ICI Dulux Velvet Touch Paint with Pearl Glow Finish.

The evening witnessed performances by Kareena and Amrita Arora (both are Brand ambassadors for ICI Dulux) as well as model-turned actor Kim Sharma. Later, Kareena was seen having lunch with Saif Ali Khan in the company of Amrita Arora, Amrita's boyfriend Usmaan and a couple of other friends.

In the evening, she was seen having dinner in the company of her sister Karishma Kapoor and brother-in-law Sunjay Kapoor. Also accompanying them were actor Saif Ali Khan, Amrita Arora and Usman.

All through her visit, though, Kareena kept away from the media.

During his visit to the city, the debonair actor Saif Ali Khan was also kept busy as he promoted a toothpaste brand. Also seen in the town last weekend were actor Jimmy Shergill, Kim Sharma and actor Mahek Chhal in connection with the promotion of their latest film 'Choddo Na Yaar' which released in theatres last week. Jimmy, Kim and Mahek attended the premiere of their film at Shipra multiplex at Ghaziabad on October 4. The week gone by also saw the arrival of the talented actress Kajol in the city to promote Whirlpool home appliances for which she is the brand ambassador.

Also lending glitz to the atmosphere in Delhi were the latest Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham who was in the city along with other celebrities in the tinseltown like Amisha Patel, Kirron Kher, Mita Vashisht, Usha Uthup, Meghna Gulzar and film director Onir to lend their support behind a UN sponsored campaign against drugs and human trafficking.

''I am here in the capacity as a human being lending my mite against this pressing problem. Today Human trafficking is an issue of urgent relevance for India as out of 150,000 human trafficking cases in South Asia every year, 90 per cent are in India. If my status as a star could help me reach out to the people, especially youth, to address this cause, then I think, I have done something good for society,''John said.

Speaking on the occasion, Amisha Patel said,''lending my support to a cause like this is very important for me. While doing my research to talk on it, I was shocked to find out that, in the entire South of Asia, human trafficking problem is much more than even the dreaded drugs problem. The intensity to which countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan and India are involved is shocking. So if I can, with my platform as an actress, help create awareness amongst people, I will be happy.''
