Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Pune-based designer Indira Broker will showcase her latest designs in ''Tussar Silk'' at Fab India, here at Kala Ghoda, which is on till October 14.
Indira's ''Tussar'' creations define strong, subtle art wear, whether worn as scarves by Hollywood heavyweights such as Goldie Hawn and Julia Roberts or as elegant saris by Shabana Azmi, Kirron Kher and Sonia Gandhi among many others.
The proceeds of the exhibition will go towards Society of Friends of the Sassoon Hospitals (SOFOSH) to help poor patients who cannot afford expensive medicines, orthopedic and surgical appliances.
Speaking to reporters here, a spokesperson said, ''Indira's collections feature the beautiful, intricate embroidery of the Chattisgarh region. She borrows extensively from nature and her collection encompasses vibrant colours like burnt oranges, lime greens, ochres, blues and reds. Black and white is used to give dramatic effect and triangles, circles, stripes are recurring motifs on her dupattas, stoles and pallavs.'' On display will be a range of richly elegant ''Tussar'' sarees, colourful stoles, scarfs, dupattas, wide assortment of printed textiles for salwar kameez and tops for the contemporary women, who wants to be well-dressed but not flashy and overdressed, the spokesperson informed.
