Honour for Satyam

Hyderbad, Oct 12 (UNI) Satyam Computers has been awarded the number one ranking in the American Society for Training and Development's (ASTD) Best Awards 2007, becoming the first non-US organisation and the first in Asia to make it to the number one slot.

Satyam Compouters Founder and Chairman B Ramalinga Raju, while expressing happiness over the award, said the company made rapid strides over the years and its efforts had paid rich dividends.

He said the Satyam Learning World was an enterprise wide learning ecosystem nurtured at Satyam through which all associate related learning and development needs were captured and delivered through a single platform.

He said Satyam Learning Center (SLC) and Satyam School of Leadership (SSL) were the two pillars of this ecosystem, each one with a well definied mandate.

Mr Raju said the focus was on offering learning programme through state-of-the-art infrastructure and learning Management system which directly addressed key business and performance mandates.

He said over 80 per cent of all learning at Satyam was delivered virtually. SLC was also credited with enhancing technical maturity and skill diversity at Satyam and maximising billability of associates.

Satyam Senior Vice President Ed Cohen said the company had carefully designed learning stragey to meet the entire life cycle of an associate from entry level to senior leaders.

The company believed strong leadership development played crucial role in the success of global companies and the company invested more in learning than most other companies in the world, he claimed.
