Governor instructs officers to give thrust on developmental works

Bangalore, Oct 12 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, who assumed office at Vidhana Soudha today following the imposition of President's rule after JD(S)-BJP government fell on Sunday, took over the administration of the state today.

Speaking at a top level officials' meeting, he instructed the officials to give thrust on the implementation of various development works which was in progress.

According to official sources the Governor took stock of various programmes and development plans of the state and instructed the officials to focus on implementing programmes on a time-bound manner.

While urging the officials to discharge their duties in accordance with the rules and procedures, he said they should take into the account of public interest. He also reportedly cautioned the officials against taking any decisions which were legally not sanctioned.

Speaking to newsmen after the meeting the Governor said that he would discharge duties as a representative of President of India and give top priority for the overall development of the state.
