Jammu, Oct 12 (UNI) General Officer Commanding, 16 Corps Lieutenant General T K Sapru today visited the remote area of Agsi in Jammu and Kashmir.
Lt Gen Sapru was accompanied by Major General P C Panjikar, General Officer Commanding Uniform Force and Brigadier D K Purohit, Commander 15 Sector Rashtriya Rifles, a defence spokesperson said.
The Gulabhgarh region was once regarded as a safe haven for terrorists. But due to sincere and dedicated efforts of security forces, the area is now peaceful and developing. Military civic action in form of Operation Sadbhavana has been carried out.
Lt Gen Sapru had an interaction with the local population who expressed happiness with the return to normalcy and development of the area. They expressed their gratitude to security forces for their efforts in bringing development and normalcy in the region.
