CISM President disappointed over Pakistan's absence

By Staff

Hyderabad, Oct 12 (UNI) Expressing ''disappointment'' over Pakistan not taking part in the eight-day World Military Games, beginning here on October 14, Conseil International du Sports Militaire (CISM) President Brig. Gen Gianni Gola today said it has decided not to allow that country to participate in its General Assembly in 2009.

''I personally feel it is a big mistake on the part of the Pakistan. It is missing a splendid opportunity to create a friendly atmosphere among armed forces,'' he told newspersons here.

Upset with the development, he said, ''We tried to convince the Pakistan Chief of Defence Staff. But they have not given any reason for their non-participation.'' Islamabad had sent its contingent for the last edition of the games, he added.
