BJP urges for enhanced Haj quota
Mumbai, Oct 12 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national secretary Joseph Varikasery had urged the Central Government to request the Saudi government to increase India's Haj quota in order to accommodate more people.
In a press statement here today, Mr Varikasery pointed out that not all the pilgrims applying for Haj, get the permission as the number of applicants is higher than the quota alloted.
He further pointed out that at present, the Haj list is prepared on the basis of a lucky draw system which leaves several pilgrims disappointed when their names do not appear in the list.
