Bilal mastermind in Ajmer durgah blast

Ajmer, Oct 12: Notorious terrorist Bilal, the suspected mastermind in several terror strikes including Samjautha Express blast and Malegoan and Hyderabad serial blasts, has been tipped as master mind behind the blast in Khwaja Moinuddin Hasan Chisti's Durgah here yesterday.

Official sources today said preliminary investigations in yesterday's blast pointed at Bilal and muslim terrorist outfit ''HUJA's involvement in the incident which had left two pilgrims dead and several others injured.

The sources said circumstantial findings and nature of blast and style of operation matched with the modus operandi adopted by Bilal and HUJA in some of their previous terror strikes.

Another live bomb recovered by the security agencies from ''Buland Darwaja'' in the Durgah premises was also powerful indicating involvement of some well set up outfit, the sources said.

Meanwhile, experts from various investigation agencies of the Centre and Rajasthan Governemnt, including Military Intelligence and National Security Guard(NSG) arrived here to contribute in the investigations.

The police has filed three cases in connection with the blast and related incidents and had rounded up around 10 people for interrogation.

While, one case has been lodged against unknown unspecified accused in connection with the blast, two more cases were lodged on behalf of the Durgah police station SHO and the Durgah Deewan Sayyad Zainual Aubeddin in connection with the incidents of assualt on police personnel and Durgah Deewan respectively.

District Police Superintendent S Sangathir said ten people were taken into the custody for interrogation.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two deceased, killed in the blast,-- Mohammad Shoaib of Mumbai and Salim Bhai(Hyderabad)--were being sent to their respecitve towns for last rites.

The situation in the Durgah which was evicted last night after the blast, has returned to normalcy today. Usual inflow of zayreens(pilgrims) and routine religious activities were witnessed throughout the day.

Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria and several other ministers, AICC General Secretary and former Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Congress state president C P Joshi and several other dignitaries also visited the Durgah to take on the spot stock of the situation.
