Lucknow, Oct 12: The legal battle over the farming land of Big B in Barabanki district of Uttar Pradesh seems to be headed for a conclusion as the megasuperstar today filed an affidavit before Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court, stating he was ready to hand over the controverssial land at village Daulatpur, if no civil, criminal and revenue action was initiated against him. During the hearing before a single judge bench comprising Justice Amarnath Verma, an affidavit was filed on behalf of Amitabh Bachchan.

The affidavit stated ''I am ready to return the land's ownership, if no civil, criminal and revenue related action was taken against me.'' In a significant twist to the Amitabh Bachchan agricultural land case before the Lucknow Bench of HC, the gram sabha -- during the hearing yesterday -- had offerred that if the Bollywood actor returned the disputed piece of land, the judicial proceedings against him would be dropped.

However, Bachchan's counsel Mohd Arif Khan had prayed for a day's time to discuss the matter with his client. The gram sabha was represented by lawyer R N Gupta.
