31 police stations to be fully computerised in Punjab

Phagwara, Oct 12 (UNI) To increase the efficiency of the state police and to make it more transparent, 31 important police stations of the state would soon be computerised in first phase of the computerisation of police functions.

While stating this here today, Jalandhar Range DIG Narinder Paul Singh said that five police stations of kapurthla district including City and Sadar Police Stations of Phagwara and Kapurthla besides Sultanpur Lodhi police station would be computerised in few days and the people could now be able to file their complaints onlines through computer.

"With computerisation, People could easily get informations regarding police verifications, NRIs help centres, criminal incidents and progress in solving the crimes, stolen and recovered articles and vehicles and moreover unidentified bodies, killed in different mishaps." DIG said that website of kapurthla district police had been relaunched now. He stressed the need to make police more "People-Friendly". He further stated that Community Police Officers would soon be appointed in a process of Community Policing which was the need of the hour.
