Hoshiarpur, Oct 11 (UNI) Yadwinder Singh of Faridkot became the fastest runner by winning the 100 metre race in style in 11.05 seconds on the second day of the of Punjab State Rural Games Boys Under 16 here today.
Gopi Chand of Hoshiarpur bagged silver in 11.81 and bronze medalist Dalbir Singh of Sangrur timed 11.98.
In weightlifting, Sukhdev Raj of Ludhiana won the gold in 56 kg weight category by lifting 145 Kg, Vikram Singh of Ropar got Silver by lifting 141 Kg and Amandeep Singh of Jalandhar got Bronze by 160 Kg. In 62 Kg weight category Narinder Singh won the first place by lifting 162 Kg, Harinder Singh of Ropar on the 2nd place by lifting 132 Kg and Mandeep Kumar got 3rd place by lifting 123 Kg weight.
Mohali will meet Sangrur in the 1st Semifinals in Kho Kho where as Bathinda will clash with Ludhiana in another Semifinals.
Mohali beat Jalandhar 11-6, Sangrur defeated Patiala -7, Bathinda beat Hoshiarpur 9-6 and Ludhiana outplayed Barnala 11-7 in the Quaterfinals.
