Sydney, Oct 11 (UNI) Sydney has been adjudged world's number one city 12th times at this year's US Conde Nast Traveller Reader's Choice Awards held in New York.
The readers of the popular travel magazine have voted Sydney into first place, with San Francisco and Florence coming second and third.
New South Wales Tourism Minister Matt Brown views this as a result of successful overseas marketing campaigns.
''We're beating the other biggest cities in the world - Paris, Rome, New York, London - Sydney definitely is number one and it's number one for a variety of reasons,'' said the Tourism Minister.
''Our wonderful food, our wonderful hospitality, our wonderful climate, as well as our spectacular scenery but also our innovative and strategic marketing campaigns,''he added.
Melbourne was voted the 16th most favourite city to visit, reported the ABC.
Variety of criteria, including ambience, friendliness, sights, restaurants, hotels and shopping, were taken into account by 28,000 readers of the magazine.
