Mumbai, Oct 11 (UNI) Within six days of the murder of RPI activist Sunil Manghale, the city police today claimed to have solved the case by arresting two persons in this connection from Bhandup, an eastern suburb, today.
Addressing mediapersons here, Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Rakesh Maria said the crime branch sleuths had received a tip-off that two persons would be coming to Mangatram Petrol pump at Bhandup to meet one of their associates.
A crime branch team, headed by senior police inspector Vijay Salaskar, laid a trap and nabbed them when the duo arrived at the spot this evening.
They have been identified as Amit Madhukar Bhogale (23) and Anil Ramsevak Pande (23).
Mr Maria said on October 6, the accused persons had fired five rounds at Manghale and Shishant Ahire at Tagore Nagar, Vikroli. In which, Sunil succumbed to the injuries during the treatement, while Shishant received wrist injuries.
During the interrogation, the duo revealed that they took this drastic step because both the deceased and injured persons used to harass them.
