One person detained for entry into IRE

Kochi, Oct 11 (UNI) One person was detained for questioning by intelligence agencies following his attempt to enter the public sector Indian Rare Earths (IRE) campus at Aluva, near here, under suspicious circumstances, police said.

Police said a tanker lorry driver Muniraj, employed at IRE, was nabbed yesterday and handed over to the Intelligence Bureau (IB) after he entered the IRE campus with a mobile camera phone, which was not allowed inside the IRE.

He was also found to be carrying the photocopy of an ID card of a retired police officer from Chennai, police said. On questioning, he said he got the card from a colleague at IRE.

Police said IB was also questioning the person who handed over the card. However, no further details were available about him.
