Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) Bihar Chief minister Nitish Kumar today condoled the death of former Karnataka Chief Minister S R Bommai in Bangalore last night.
In a condolence message here, Mr Kumar, recalling his close relationship with Mr Bommai, said besides being the Karnataka Chief Minister, he was the national president of the then Janata Dal.
Describing Mr Bommai's death as an ''irreparable loss'', Mr Kumar said it was also a major blow to the Socilaist movement as he was a very popular leader and efficient organiser.
''It is also a huge personal loss for me,'' Mr Kumar reiterated.
Mr Kumar expressed his heartfelt sympathies to the bereaved family.
Mr Bommai died in a private hospital in Bangalore last night after a prolonged illness. He was 84.
