Colombo, Oct 11 (UNI) Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa leaves for New Delhi today to address the fifth Hindustan Times Leadership Summit beginning tomorrow in the capital.
The summit's theme -- The India that can be -- sponsored by Hindustan Times (HT) Media Ltd, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The objectives of the summit are to enhance the level of discussion on compelling and pressing national, regional and global issues, to stimulate interaction among leaders and to present an international quality thought-platform aimed at exploring possible solutions.
According to diplomatic sources, President Mahinda Rajapaksa is expected to meet the Indian President, Prime Minister and other key Indian leaders to discuss bilateral relations.
Distinguished speakers like UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Indian Finance Minister P Chidambaram, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Mohammed El Baradei, among others will also speak on the topic.
President Rajapaksa will address the summit on October 13 and speakers from all over the world will also address the summit. They include Former Governor of Florida Jeb Bush, Professor of Climate and Atmospheric Sciences, University of California Dr V Ramanathan.
Besides, several businesses and cultural personalities are also scheduled to address the Summit. They include Director Aditya Birla Group Rajashree Birla, Co-founder of Infosys Technologies&Co Nandan Nilenkani Harish Manwani and Shah Rukh Khan.
