JP's 105th birth anniversary celebrated in Bihar

Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) The 105th birth anniversary of the great socialist leader Jayprakash Narayan, popular as JP, was celebrated here today.

The main official function was organised at Incom Tax round about where Governor R.S.Gavai, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Parliamentray Affairs Minister Ramashraya Prasad Singh and several other dignitaries garlanded the statue of JP and paid homage to him.

A function was also organised at the Kadamkuan based residence of JP where he had spent last ten years of his life.

In a function held at RJD office, Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and other prominent leaders of the party paid tributes to JP and pledged to follow the path shown by him.Separate functions were also organised at BJP and JD(U) party offices to mark the day.

A special function was held at Sitabdiara in Saran district, the birth place of JP where cross section of the society vowed to adher to the ideologies of the leader.
