Patna, Oct 11 (UNI) The 105th birth anniversary of socialist leader and pioneer of revolutionary movement in Bihar, Jayprakash Nayaran popular as JP was celebrated here today.
On this ocasion, Governor R S Gavai, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi, Parliamentray Affairs Minister Ramashraya Prasad Singh and several other dignitaries paid homage to JP.
A function was also organised at the Kadamkuan residence of JP where he had spent the last ten years of his life.
In a function held at the RJD office, Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad and other prominent leaders of the party paid tributes to JP and pledged to follow the path shown by him. Separate functions were also organised at BJP and JD(U) party offices to march the day.
A special function was held at Sitabdiara in Saran district, the birth place of JP, where a cross section of the society vowed to adher to the ideologies of the leader.
