Bangalore, Oct 11 (UNI) Dell Inc, one of the world's leading PC and laptop manufacturers, will shortly introduce direct sales, Company Chief Technology Officer Kevin Kettler said today.

Addressing a press conference to announce company's initiative to 'Simplify IT' by removing complexity and reducing cost by introducing new products, he said a lot of enquiries were received from the public about possibility of the company directly selling its products.

''We are seriously thinking in the direction. However, it would be besides sale through dealers,'' he said.

To a question, he said the company had been registering 50 per cent growth year-on-year with the turnover last year being Rs 2,000 crore.

Dell Inc Asia Pacific (South) President Paul Henri Ferrand, who detailed about the initiatives with regard to 'Simplify IT,' said ''our aim is to occupy first position. At present, our market share is 35 per cent in India.'' He said HP overtook Dell since it had not been concentrating on corporate sector market.

''But we would henceforth try to capture domestic market also,'' he added.

Declining to reveal the company's total investment, he said so far Dell had invested 30 million US Dollar in marketing and 150 million USD on research and development in its Bangalore Centre.
