CM assures house sites to journos

Hyderabad, Oct 11 (UNI) Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today assured a delegation of Andhra Pradesh Union Working Journalists (APUWJ) that the government would take speedy steps to allot house sites to journalists, including the electronic media working in the city.

It was the government's endeavour to provide dwelling sites to all eligibile working journalists, Dr Reddy told the APUWJ delegation when they met him in the wake of High Court ruling.

If necessary, the government would allot more lands, the Chief Minister said, adding that steps would be taken to cover all working journalists, including the electronic media under the Arogya Sri Insurance Scheme that covers hospitalisation and treatment to the insured persons up to Rs one lakh.

The delegation was led by APUWJ, comprising representatives of the Andhra Pradesh Electronic Media Journalists Association, AP Electronic Media Cameramen Association and AP Press Photographers Association.
