Gwalior, Oct 11 (UNI) A scintillating knock of 89 by Eklavya Dwivedi helped Uttar Pradesh amass 445 runs and secure a lead of 155 over Madhya Pradesh (290) on the third day of a 4-day C K Nayudu Trophy encounter at Captain Roop Singh Stadium here today.
At stumps, the hosts were 174/3 with Murtaza Ali (40) at the crease. Madhya Pradesh's second innings was opened by Rohan Shrivastav (7) and Mehul Rai (52). The latter's knock included 10 fours. Rahul Bakshi (61) sent the cherry hurtling to the rope seven times. For Uttar Pradesh, Praveen Kumar, K K Upadhyay and Shivkant Shukla claimed a wicket each.
Uttar Pradesh were bowled out after lunch. Dwivedi's knock packed in a dozen boundaries and Mohammad Khalid (68) scored 9 fours. Other scorers were Deependra Pande (13), K K Upadhyay (4) and Mohammad Abid (1 not out). Asif Ali scalped 5 batsmen, Amit Mishra claimed 2 wickets while Mayak Jagdale and Shrivastav took 1 each.
