Kolkata, Oct 11 (UNI) The most sought after Bardhaman Health City, a joint venture project of CES Infratech Pvt Ltd, will be completed by 2012.
Talking to media persons here today at a felicitation programme, CES Infractec Chairman Prof Sudhangsu Sekhar Chakraborty said, the company, a JV between Consulting Engineering Services(CES) India and West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation, will set up the state's first health city under private-public partnership.
The Bardhaman Development Authority had inked a deal with CES Infractec earlier this year to build this Rs 1,000 crore health city on 60 acres of land, provided by the state government, near Durgapur Expressway (NH-42).
Bengal Faith Health Care Pvt Ltd, the SPV, floated for this project would construct this 500-bed multi-speciality hospital with a medical college, a nursing college, paramedical school, polyclinic, and residential accommodations for the city staff.
''We will also open a diagnostic centre, a bio-tech institute, a blood bank and a unit for manufacturing pollution free clinical equipment,'' Prof Chakraborty, who was awarded the Gold Medal, 2007 by the Institute of Civil Engineers, UK on October five.
Faith Health Care is the single majority share holder in the entire project, he said adding that that the first phase of the construction would be completed within three years.
''The anchor hospital will be completed in next three years. 0A total of Rs 315 crore would be required in the first phase,'' he added.
The project was targetted to provide better health services for the rich, middle-income, poor, and below the poverty line people, said Prof Chakraborty, who is also the Managing Director of CES.
''There will be separate welfare fund for the poor in terms of health insurance, health cards and coupons,'' he added.
