New York, Oct 10: US-based Spectrum International LLC, a company owned by an NRI, has announced to invest Rs 2,000 crore in Haryana in food preservation and processing industries.
This announcement was made in a reception organised in the honour of visiting Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda at Royal Albert Palace, New Jersey, by the people of Haryana and prominent local associations.
The meeting was attended by more than 200 NRI's predominately of the Haryana origin. They lauded the efforts of the Chief Minister for making Haryana the Number one state in the country and making its people prosperous.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr Hooda announced that a nodal officer to deal and coordinate with the NRI's will be appointed by the state government. In the mean time for any requirement Mr M L Tayal, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, can be contacted. The Chief Minister welcomed them to the state of Haryana.
He said all out efforts would be made by the state to facilitate their investment in the state. He invited them to the state to compare and evaluate the infrastructure available. The Chief Minister said to augment power supply, projects for 5000 MW are being implemented.
Mr Hooda, who is leading a high powered delegation of Haryana government and CII, reached New York yesterday to project Haryana as the ''most preferred investment destination''.
The other members of the delegation include Capt Ajay Singh Yadav, Irrigation Minister Phool Chand Mauala, Deputy Chairman, Twenty Point Programme and Mr Shadi Lal Batra, Chairman, Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board and senior officers of Haryana government.
From the side of CII, leading industrialists of the state were also part of the delegation. Earlier, the delegation was welcomed and warmly received by the representatives of Indian mission at New York and the prominent people of Haryana settled in the US.
