Patna, Oct 10: Expressing apprehensions of mid term poll of Lok Sabha, former Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani today said UPA and CPI(M) though had contradictory policies but were striving over a common agenda of keeping the BJP led NDA at bay.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion of felicitation of Mr Kailashpati Mishra, the 'Bhishm Pitamah' of BJP on his 85th Birthday celebrations, Mr Advani said at the time of 60th Independence day celebrations he was confindent about the UPA government completing its term, but now the possibility of mid term poll looms large and it could not be avoided under any circumstances just because of the confronting nature of the UPA and the CPI(M).

Even without mentioning the positive outcome of the yesterdays meeting between the left and the UPA over the on going poltical crisis the former deputy Prime Minister said that the UPA and the CPM which was extending support to it had separate view points and ideologies over economical as well as foreign issues and the differences would certainly result confrontation among them.

The UPA and its alliance partners were working on single agenda and had dopted all measures to prevent the BJP led NDA from coming back to the power, he added.

Mr Advani though did not mention the name of the RJD Chief Lalu Prasad, but alleged that those who had made their political identity adhering to the path of great socialist leaders like Jay Prakash (JP) and Ram Manohar Lohiya were now derailed from their mission.

Both the leaders were against dominance of single party, he said adding that it was NDA which successfully carried forward their dreams of coalition government whereas the so called followers of socialist leaders failed in discharging the coalition 'dharma' and till yesterday they were induldged in dirty politics of mud slinging.
