Tibetan protestors detained after protests at Chinese Embassy

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Twenty two Tibetan protestors were today detained from outside the Chinese Embassy where they were protesting against a a recent Chinese order that Beijing must approve all of Tibet's spiritual leaders, known as Lamas.

At about 1300 hours, some 22 Tibetan exiles were detained from outside the Chinese Embassy while these were holding a protest, Delhi Police spokesperson Rajan Bhagat said.

''However, the protestors were soon released and no charges pressed against them,''Mr Bhagat added.

Mr Bhagat said it was a peaceful protest and no breach of security involved.

Sources said the Tibetan exiles were protesting a recent Chinese order that Beijing must approve all of Tibet's spiritual leaders, known as Lamas.
