Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, expressing shock over death of former Chief Minister S R Bommai, today declared a three-day mourning in the State.
In a release here tonight, he said that the National Flag will fly half mast at all the Government buildings and Offices from October 10 to 12 and all engagements and all official engagements and functions stand canceled.
A state funeral will be accorded to Mr Bommai.
In a condolence message, Mr Thakur expressed shock over sudden demise of Mr S R Bommai. "He was a man of great conviction and political sagacity. He was a gentlemen to the core and at the same time straight forward in espousing the cause he was committed to. He held many public offices both at the Centre and in the State during his stewardship of the State had taken many strides towards development", he added.
