New Delhi. Oct 10: Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Jai Prakash Agarwal today said the steps taken by the Delhi Government to tackle the menace caused by Bluelines were in the right direction.
''After Sunday's Blueline accident, notices have been sent to the about 3000 bus operators asking them to file affidavits containing details of their operations. Also, action has been taken against drivers indulging in rash driving,''Mr Agarwal told mediapersons here.
Stating that it was not possible to remove 3000 Blueline buses overnight, Mr Agarwal said steps were, however, afoot on part of the Delhi Government to phase out these buses through measures like the introduction of high capacity buses and the expansion of the Delhi Metro System.
He said the solution to the problem did not lie in removing the buses from the roads. Instead, there was a need for strict monitoring of operation of these buses, he said.
