Mumbai, Oct 10: Shiv Sena today came out openly against Union Agriculture minister and NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, holding him responsible for the 'wheat import scam'.
Talking to reporters here, the leader of the opposition Ramdas Kadam said Pawar ''being the agriculture minister. is obviously responsible for the import of low quality of wheat at a much higher price''.
It is significant to note the change of stance of the Sena in the backdrop of its support to Mr Pawar for Prime Ministership.
In reply to a question, Mr Kadam admitted there was delay in raising the issue after the BJP had highlighted the issue at all forums.
Mr Kadam said there was a big price rise in all essential commodities. In this context, he said the party's women's front would take out a morcha tomorrow to Mantralaya and such morchas would also be organised all over Maharashtra.
