Moscow, Oct 10: Sania Mirza's good show in doubles continued as she and her new partner Patty Schnyder of Switzerland cruised into the quarter-finals of the Kremlin Cup here.
The Indo-Swiss combination easily overcame the challenge of Vera Dushevina of Russia and Tatiana Perebiyinis of Ukraine 6-1, 6-3 to move into the last eight of the 1,340,000 dollar Tier I hard court event.
However, tough challenge is in the offing for Sania-Schnyder duo as they will take on top seed Cara Black of Zimbabwe and American Liezel Huber in the next round.
The Zimbabwean-American pair got the better of Russian girls Maria Kirilenko and Elena Vesnina 6-2, 6-3 in the opening round.
In the singles, Sania had already been eliminated in the first round by Gisela Dulko of Argentina.
The 41st ranked Argentinian took just over an hour to beat Sania who is placed 12 places above her in the rankings.
