Reliance Retail forays into apparel retailing

New Delhi, Oct 10 (UNI) Mukesh-Ambani owned Reliance Retail will foray into the apparel retailing sector and is expecting a revenue of Rs 20,000 crore from this new venture.

The company will launch its Reliance Trends mega showroom tomorrow at Gurgaon.

The showroom spread over an area of 30,000 square feet, will showcase 100 Indian and international brands.

The showroom will also showcase in-house Reliance brands such as First Class, Network, Netplay, TeamSpirit and Sparsh in men's and women's formal/casual and ethnic wear, Panda for kids clothing and Grip in the luggage section.

Reliance Retail has earlier unveiled its first hypermarket Reliance Mart in Ahmedabad, which was the company's third retail format after its chain of supermarkets under the Reliance Fresh brand and the consumer electronics megastore Reliance Digital.

The company plans to set up over 30 hypermarkets this year and over 500 by 2010.
