The local unit started firm in the early session and currently trading in the range of 39.31-36 per dollar in an active inter-bank foreign exchange (forex) market, dealers said.
The partially convertible Indian currency was pushed up by the heavy inflows through the foreign institutional investors in the market. The sensex opened about 200 points higher in the morning session and taking upward move which may provide further thrust to the Rupee, dealers opined.
