PBMC celebrates Golden jublee amidst protests
Port Blair, Oct 10 (UNI) The Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) is celebrating its Golden Jubilee amidst heavy protests by its employees.
PBMC sources told UNI here today that the controversy triggered among the employees with regard to inviting a few ex-councillors and employees.
Sources said a few of the employees were unhappy with the non-invitation of some ex-councillors to the PBMC's grand celebration.
Hundreds of employees shouted slogans against the council alleging that the top brasses in the council were arranging such functions to siphon off people's money.
''Crores of rupees have been spent in the name of celebration but nothing constructive has been done in Port Blair,'' alleged K Ganeshan, an ex-councillor of PBMC.
