Mughalsarai stampede toll rises to 15
Varanasi, Oct 10 (UNI) The toll in the October 3 stampede at the Mughalsarai railway station of neighbouring Chandauli district has risen to 15 following the death of a woman at the Banaras Hindu University (BHU) hospital here.
Sushila Devi (50), from Bhojpur district of Bihar, succumbed to injuries at the Sir Sunder Lal Hospital in BHU last evening, official sources at the hospital said here today.
Among the ten women who were rushed in critical state to the BHU hospital after the stampede, only Chandrajyota is among the survivors, who is still being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of hospital, whereas, one Madhuri, had died that evening only, sources added.
The stampede occured at the overbridge of Mughalsarai railway station -- a key junction on the New Delhi-Howrah rail line -- on October 3 afternoon, when three passenger trains arrived within a span of five minutes on adjacent platforms resulting in a heavy rush of passengers.

participate

festival
of
'Jyootiya.'
