Maoist bandh peaceful in AP agency area

Visakhapatnam, Oct 10: The bandh called by the CPI (Maoists) in in the agency area of AOB Region has been peaceful so far with no untoward incident being reported from the 11 mandals.

The Maoists gave the bandh call after four members of their group were killed in Amidala Village of G Madugula Mandal of the district on 26 September.

Police have sounded an alert in the agency area as a precautionary measure.

Sources said in the city, mofussil buses were only plying up to Paderu and Chintapalli, except Gudem Kotha Veedhi.
