K'taka Governor formally takes over administration of the state

Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) With Karnataka coming under central rule following the fall of the H D Kumaraswamy government, Governor Rameshwar Thakur today took over the administration of the state.

In his first communication to the press after the JD(S)-BJP coalition fell apart early this week, the governor said that he would the office at Vidhana Soudha on working days between 1030 hrs to 1330 hrs from tomorrow.

According to a release from Governor's Secretariat, Mr Thakur would address the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries, DG&IGP, Bangalore Commissioner of Police and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests at 1045 hrs on Thursday.

The Governor, when in station, would meet general public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1230 hrs to 1330 hrs.

Karnataka has been brought yesterday under President rule following withdrawal of support by BJP to its coalition partner JD(S) for not transferring the Chief Minister's post as agreed during February 2006 before the coalition was formed.
