K'taka Governor formally takes over administration

Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) With Karnataka coming under President's rule following the collapse of H D Kumaraswamy-headed JD(S)-BJP coalition Government, Governor Rameshwar Thakur today formally took over administration of the State.

In his first communication to the Press after the coalition government collapsed earlier this week, the Governor said he would be present at the Vidhana Soudha, the State Secretariat, on working days between 1030 hrs and 1330 hrs from tomorrow.

According to a release from the Governor's Secretariat, Mr Thakur would address the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of all departments, DG and IGP, Bangalore Commissioner of Police and Principal Chief Conservator of Forests at 1045 hrs tomorrow.

The Governor, when in station, would meet the general public on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 1230 hrs to 1330 hrs, it added.

Karnataka was brought under President's rule yesterday, following the withdrawal of support by the BJP to JD(S) after the latter refused to honour its pre-Government formation agreement with the BJP to transfer power to that party on October three last.
