Chandigarh, Oct 10 (UNI) Punjab Police will be organising a two-day Golf Tournament for retired and serving government officers, begining tomorrow at the Chandigarh Golf Club, according to organising secretary C S R Reddy.
The ceremonial tee off will be by Punjab Chief Secretary Ramesh Inder Singh.
As many as 138 participants from all over India, both serving and retired civil and police officers would take part in the tournament. As mand as 81 serving and 29 retired special category officers would take part, besides 28 invitee officers.
The special category consists of prominent citizens, IAS/IPS/IFS/IA&AS and invitees are industrialists and sponsors.
The lone lady participant will be Mrs Aruna Bahuguna, IPS, Director General of Special Protection Force, Andhra Pardesh.
The format of the tournament is strokeplay. The handicap of each player will be considered on Peoria System of handicapping.
The event comprises team event of two players each and individual match play based on gross/net scores and longest drive/nearest to pin. The practice round today evoked lot of enthusiasm among the participants.
