Dhumal for holding assembly elections under Governor rule
Hamirpur, Oct 10 (UNI) Apprehending misuse of government machinery in the state by the present Congress Government during assembly polls, former Himachal Pradesh chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said elections should be held under the Governor's rule.
''The assembly elections should be held under the Governor's rule to prevent any misuse of government machinery and rigging during the polls,'' he told UNI here.
Mr Dhumal said in view of the state government's functioning during the last four and half years, elections should not be held under the care of the present Congress Government.
Meanwhile, the BJP activists expressed their joy over the announcement of elections by distributing sweets in former chief minister's assembly constituency and other surrounding areas.
