Decision to call off 'Jail Bharo' agitation unanimous: Bainsla
Ajmer, Oct 10 (UNI) Gujjar Arakshan Sangarsh Samiti convenor Col Kirori Singh Bainsla said the decision to call off the eight-day 'Jail Bharo' agitation in Rajasthan was arrived at unanimously by the leaders of the core committee and Sangharsh samiti.
He ruled out any differences within the Gujjar leadership over calling off the agitation. In a brief talk with the newsmen at the Ajmer central jail, he evaded any reply to the question as to why rebel BJP MLAs Prahland Gunjal and Attar Singh Bhadana were kept away from the talks.
Mr Bainsla said the talks with the government on their six-point programme was on track and requested the community to maintain peace.
Meanwhile, BJP state general secretary Rampal Jat, who was acting as a mediator between the government and Gujjar leaders to end the 'jail Bharo' agitation, said further talks would begin after the Gujjar leaders decided on their representatives in the talks.
He said the Gujjar leaders had handed over their six-point programme to the government and the government had invited the Gujjar representatives for further talks to iron out the issue.
