Centre sanctions Rs 121.64 cr for NE states
Agartala, Oct 10 (UNI) Northeastern states, including Sikkim, have received Rs 121.64 crore during last three fiscal as Central Financial Assistance (CFA) under various renewable energy programme.
Official sources here today said as part of promotion of renewable energy use at both domestic and community level, the Centre had been investing sufficient funds for the region considering its potential.
According to record, Arunachal Pradesh received the highest amount in the region, which is Rs 31.44, while Mizoram Rs 27.56 crore, Tripura received Rs 14.54 crore in last three years under different renewable energy programme. Meghalaya got Rs 14.25 crore, Sikkim Rs 11.17 crore, Manipur Rs 11.09 crore, Asom Rs 6.54 crore and Nagaland Rs 5.05 crore.
Meanwhile, the state governments have been asked to chalk out a time bound comprehensive plan for utilising renewable energy sources like solar power, bio-gas and wind as much as possible to help the country in managing energy crisis.
