Capdevila calls for error-free performance v Denmark

By Staff

MADRID, Oct 10 (Reuters) Spain will need to produce an error-free performance against Denmark on Saturday if they are to beat their Group F rivals and remain on course for a place at Euro 2008, said full back Joan Capdevila.

''Denmark are a very difficult team to play against, especially as they've got home advantage,'' the Villarreal defender told a news conference in Madrid today.

''Everything is at stake for both sides and it will be a very evenly balanced match. It will be decided on small details and we will have to be on our guard throughout the game.'' ''We will have to take care especially from set pieces and avoid any losses of concentration because that could decide the game. So we have to play 100 percent and not commit any errors.'' With three qualifiers left to play, Spain are in second spot in Group F, level on 19 points with leaders Sweden who have played a game less.

Northern Ireland, who are in third place on 16 points, are also in the hunt for qualification, while Denmark, who are on 14 points and have a game in hand, are still in with a chance of making next year's tournament in Austria and Switzerland.

Striker Fernando Torres and forward David Silva both sat out training on Wednesday because of minor injury niggles, but are expected to take part in the evening session as the team prepares for Saturday's match in Aarhus.
