Patna,Oct 10(UNI)More than four thousand engineers, owing allegiance to Bihar Engineering Services Association (BESA), today proceeded on two-day mass leave in protest against the 'repressive attitude' of the bureaucrats in the Bihar.

BESA General Secretary Rajeshwar Mishra said the decision to go on leave was taken to protest the 'unnecessary harassment' meted out to the engineers by bureaucrats in flood affected areas in north Bihar.

'' On the directive of special district magistrate of Sitamarhi K K Pathak, FIRs were registered against the engineers on frivolous charges and they were being harassed by the district administration,'' Mr Mishra pointed out.

'' If the state government failed to check the harassments of engineers, we would be forced to launch state wide agitation from October 25,'' he warned.
