Bhoruka Power commissions wind farm in Karnataka
Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) The city-based Bhoruka Power Corporation Ltd (BPCL) today announced the commissioning of 7.2 MW wind farm in Gadag district, comprising eight wind mills, at an investment of Rs 42 crore.
The wind farm would be situated on top of a hill near Nargund town that had one of the best wind regimes in the State, a company release here said.
With this, BPCL's total installed capacity had touched 100 MW mark and wind capacity currently constituted 15 per cent of the total power generated by the company. This wind farm could deliver 21 MW of electricity per annum.
The company planned to install two more wind power plants with an investment of Rs 180 crore by the end of 2008.
