Bangalore, Oct 10 (UNI) Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur, expressing shock over the death of former Chief Minister S R Bommai tonight declared a three-day mourning in the State.
In a release here tonight, he said the National Flag would fly half mast at all Government buildings and offices from October 10 to 12 and all official engagements and functions would stand cancelled.
A State funeral would be accorded to Bommai.
In a condolence message, Mr Thakur expressed shock over the sudden demise of Bommai. ''He was a man of great conviction and political sagacity. He was a gentleman to the core and at the same time straight forward in espousing the cause he was committed to. He held many public offices both at the Centre and in the State. During his stewardship of the State, he had taken many strides towards development'', he added.
