Students demands special status for Hyderabad-Karnataka Region
Gulbarga Oct 9 (UNI) Students from various colleges and schools participated in protest demonstration demanding amendment to article 371 of constitution conferring special status to Hyderabad-Karnataka region, the most backward area in the state.
The demonstration was organised by the Hyderabad Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (HKCCI) in association with Hyderabad-Karnataka Praja Samithi (HKPC) as a part of its mass awareness programme was participated by large number of students in the city.
Accusing that the successive governments both at the center and in the state have neglected the development of the region the HKPS leaders have alleged that step motherly attitude was being meted out to the region for long.
The HKCCI president Mr Umakanth Nigudgi, who led the demonstration also addressed the gathering and demanded the state government to implement the Mulki rules which was in practice even now in Andhra Pradesh.
