PWD engineer convicted in corruption case
Bhopal, Oct 9 (UNI) A special court of Chhindwara has sentenced Public Works department's Executive Engineer P L Patel to two years rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 for taking bribe from a contractor.
Official sources said Patel was caught taking bribe of Rs 16,000 on October 5, 1998 on the complaint of contractor Sushil Kumar Choudhary of Parasia. The engineer had demanded the bribe for issuing a cheque relating to road and culvert construction.
