MP: PWD engineer convicted in corruption case

Bhopal, Oct 9: A special court of Chhindwara has sentenced two years rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs 3,000 to Public Works department's Executive Engineer P L Patel for taking bribe from a contractor.

Official sources said Patel was caught taking bribe of Rs 16,000 on October 5, 1998 on the complaint of contractor Sushil Kumar Choudhary of Parasia. The engineer had demanded the bribe for issuing cheque relating to road and culvert construction.
