Sohna, Haryana, Oct 9 (UNI) Leading plastics company OK Play India Ltd (OPIL) is mulling to expand its manufacturing base in the country by setting up three additional plants with an investment of Rs 70 crore.
''The three plants--Bawal in Haryana, Ranipet in Tamil Nadu and Nalagarh in Himachal Pradesh--will help us increase our production capacity to 15-29 tonnes a day, from the current six tones a day,'' said OPIL Managing Director Rajan Handa.
While the Bawal plant will be operational by March 2008, the other two will be functional by the first quarter next fiscal, he added.
The move is targeted at supplying pan-India. ''This will help us in cutting the cost of logistics as well,'' said Mr Handa.
The company has already raised the funds for expansion. ''The company is diversifying into a lot of other areas and it became essential to increase our manufacturing base,'' said Mr Handa.
