The first innings daytime telecast of this match registered a peak TVR of 11.5, which would have been higher but for the interruption and cessation of play early, said a release issued by Neo Sports here today.
Neo Sports was clearly a major beneficiary of this viewership surge. In Mumbai, Neo had a 30 per cent share of TV viewing, the next biggest channel was Star Plus with 2.7 per cent. In Delhi, Neo had a 22 per cent share of TV viewing, the next highest was Zee TV with 3.8 per cent.
Neo"s pyramid distribution strategy of focusing on not just the larger cities seems to be working too. In Rajasthan, there was 0.1-1 mn markets. Neo had a 33 per cent share of TV viewing with Sony Entertainment TV coming in 2nd at 7.5 per cent.
The connectivity of Neo has also surged during this period, according to AMAP connectivity reports, hitting 96 per cent in Rajasthan, 67 per cent in Punjab, 60 per cent in Gujarat and in the metros of Mumbai and Delhi 60 per cent and 50 per cent respectively, the release added.
