Naxals kill sympathiser in Gadchiroli
Nagpur, Oct 9 (UNI) Suspected naxalites brutally killed one of their sympathisers in Gadchiroli district in Vidarbha region of Maharashtra, police said today.
According to police, a group of armed naxalites came to the field of Bhojuram Mandu Naitam (55), near village Botehur in Dhanora tehsil when he was sleeping there with his wife, son and daughter-in-law late last night.
The naxalites woke them up, and beat up Bhojuram and his wife, the police said. The outlaws then dragged them both to their house in the village, and beat them up again, it said.
Later, the naxalites slit Bhojuram's throat with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.
Police said Bhojuram was a naxalite sympathiser, and used to provide them food and information about the police. Besides, the outlaws also used his tractor, they said. An offence under section 110 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) had been registered against him in 2006, police added.
